18 MARCH ÇANAKKALE VICTORY STOP PASSENGER POEM
STOP PASSENGER
Stop, traveler! You came and stepped on without knowing
This land is where an era sank.
Bend down and listen, this silent mass
A homeland is where its heart beats.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
At the end of this lonely, shadowless road
This mound you see is in Anatolia
For the sake of independence, for the sake of honor
It is the place where the deceased Mehmet rests.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
This mound is a big earthquake when it breaks,
As the last piece of the homeland passes by,
The flood in which Mehmed drowned the enemy
It is the place where his holy blood was shed.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Think about the resurrection of blood and bone flesh.
This bump he made is relentlessly tough
At the end of a war, the whole nation
It is the place where he tastes the pleasure of freedom.
