Pi Day is considered special in memory of the famous mathematical constant Pi (π). In many parts of the world, every year on March 14 (14th day of the 3rd month), the world celebrates "Pi Day". It is also celebrated as. The reason why Pi Day is March 14 is that the number Pi, which is the ratio of the circumference of the circle to its diameter, is rounded to 3.14.
The mathematical constant Pi, usually abbreviated as 3.14 or 22/7, is used in calculations. The real value of the number is 3.141592653589793238462643383... and continues forever and does not have any repeating patterns.
Pi number, which has great importance in sciences such as mathematics, geometry and physics, especially in the calculation of the circumference and area of the circle, is also referred to as Ludolph number or Archimedes Constant in some sources.
Pi Symbol, 16th letter of the Greek alphabet. This letter also means “perimetier”, which means “circle” in Greek. the first letter of the word. The pi (π) symbol was introduced by William Jones in 1706. However, the symbol became popular in 1737 when it was used by the famous Swiss mathematician and physicist Leonhard Euler.
The US House of Representatives declared March 14, 2009 as National Pi Day on March 12, 2009. Pi Day, which was first celebrated in 1988 by a famous physicist Larry Shaw at the San Francisco Exploratorium, has been celebrated in Turkey since 2007.
