What is movement?
The change in the position or location of an object relative to a stationary point is called motion.
What are the Movement Types?
The movement of moving entities is examined in two groups depending on the trajectory and speed of the movement.
1. Types of Movements According to Their Orbits
The path that moving objects follow throughout their motion is called orbit.
a. Linear Motion
It is the movement of an object that changes position on a straight orbit. A car moving on a straight road can be given as an example of linear motion.
b. Curvilinear Movement
It is the movement of objects whose orbit is curvilinear. Throwing a basketball into the basket can be given as an example of this type of movement.
c. Circular Motion
It is the movement of objects that follow an orbit as if they were in a circle. The movement of the hour and minute hands on the clock can be given as an example of this type of movement.
2. Movement Types According to Their Speed
a. Constant Speed Motion
The movement of objects is that there is no increase or decrease in their speed during their longitudinal displacement.
b. Smooth - Alternating Motion
It is the increase or decrease in the speed of a moving object throughout its movement. If the speed of the object increases, this motion is called "uniformly accelerating motion", and if its speed decreases, it is called "uniformly decelerating motion". is called.
